A-Cero Architects of Spain have recently completed their newest single-family house, ‘Marble and Bamboo’ in the northern region of Madrid. Situated on a rectangular lot surrounded by oak and pine trees, the residence coexists with its context to preserve the existing native vegetation.

As the name implies, the concrete frame and shear wall structure is clad in porous cream-colored stone tiles with bamboo planks wrapping parts of the facade to create a play of stacked angled volumes with sharp and curvilinear edges. Public gathering functions are held on the ground level, boasting a polished white marble floor and light-colored walls that reflect light all throughout the space.
