Autodesk Fusion 360 Designathon
University of Witwatersrand
South Africa

Autodesk's first Fusion 360 designathon in South Africa was successfully completed on 10 September 2015 with support from local education partners.

During the two-day designathon, 13 teams formed by the students of Wits University first learned Fusion 360 from an expert trainer on the first day, and used this fresh knowledge to create their 3D models of choice on the second day.

As per the DesignNow format, the judging was done by the lecturers of Wits University and the winner teams received their awards with a prizegiving ceremony with the attendance of the head of school.

Tiaan Smit, an associate lecturer from the School of Mechanical, Industrial and Aeronautical Engineering of Wits University said “the workshop was absolutely fantastic and the way the students participated and the amount of work they put in was amazing to see”.
